FTTx

The term “Fiber to the x” is used to replace all or a part of existing copper cables in the broadband network architecture of service providers with fiber optic cables. FFTx generalization includes the following FTT applications:

  • Fiber To The Node ( FTTN)
  • Fiber To The Curb ( FTTC)
  • Fiber To The Building or Fiber To The Basement ( FTTB)
  • Fiber To The Home ( FTTH)
  • Fiber To The Premises ( FTTP)
  • Fiber To The Desk ( FTTD)

Fiber To The Node (FTTN)
In this application, the fiber optic cable is terminated at cabinets located in a few kilometers away to the customers and reaches the customer from these cabinets through copper cable. It allows for high-quality Internet and internet access within hugely wide areas.

Fiber To The Curb/Fiber To The Cabinet ( FTTC)
This application is similar to the FTTN. Here, however, the cabinets are very close to the customer locations (300-500 m). Thus, our customers are provided with much broader band through copper cables (VDSL).

Fiber To The Building ( FTTB)
Fiber optic cable is terminated in a box located in the entrance to the building. Access up to the customer offices are provided with broadband Ethernet cables or with indoor fiber optic cable, if the indoor distance is longer. It allows for Ethernet-based fast access. In this structure, continuous and reliable broadband access is provided over the same fiber infrastructure up to the building entrances.

Fiber To The Home ( FTTH)
Fiber optic cable is terminated in a box located on the entrance to our customers’ offices. The router connection of our customer is made using Ethernet cable. With this application, fiber optic access is provided, which allows for reliable, fast and broadband communication, up to our customer’s door.

Fiber To The Premises ( FTTP)
Fiber optic cable is brought up to our customer’s gateway device. A very fast communication is gained through a type of single media. This is typically preferred by the service provider companies.

Fiber To The Desk ( FTTD)
In this application also known as Fiber Optic LAN, the communication is provided using fiber optic cable from the switch located in the system room of our customer to the computers or media converters on users’ desks.

Thanks to the expertise we have gained in Fiber To The X application, we can make an important contribution to be supportive both technically and also operationally in creating the necessary architecture and determining the customer requirements jointly with the customer and to provide the end-to-end structure to meet the customer requirements.

It allows for a smooth and reliable installation on customer part that the necessary infrastructure has been supplied and the compatibility of all the products we use with each other has been tested.
